Band on the Run
In December 2007 Jeff Wasienski had an idea about creating a music group with no boundaries. After 34 years of playing in various groups from classical to ethnic to pop, he wanted to combine all these elements into one group: A group with no rules and no restrictions. Hence, Mosaica was formed in a coffee house in Maplewood, Minnesota when a core group of musicians accepted the challenge of putting together a playlist that covered all genres of music from Eastern European to Old Time to popular standards and ballads of the 20th century.
In May 2008 Mosaica debuted at the Festival of Nations in St. Paul providing dance music for the Chabry Teen Polish Folk Dance Group and the Dolina Polish Folk Dancers. Other gigs including The Sunday Social at Catholic Elder Care, cafe gigs gave Mosaica the chance to show off its creativity and versatility. Mosaica's momentum increased after great reviews at Twin Cities Polish Fest and Kramarczuk's performances.
Mosaica remains committed to playing whatever they want while occasionally focusing on specific music for specific audiences, whether they be cultural or social.
